PHILADELPHIA, PA - Congratulations to Perkiomen Valley High School’s Lisa Kapp and St. Joseph’s Preparatory School’s Ryan Zehner for advancing to the final round of varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate at the University of Pennsylvania Liberty Bell Classic! In the round, Lisa defeated Ryan to claim the title of the long-running tournament.

Michael O’Connell Wins Valley Mid-America Cup; Marquette Claims Policy Championship

DES MOINES, IA - Congratulations to Bishop Kelley High School’s Michael O’Connell and Lake Highland Preparatory School’s J.R. Thorsen for advancing to the final round of the Mid-America Cup at Valley High School! On a 3-0 decision — Stephen Hess, Dan Meyers, and Sam Duby adjudicated — Michael defeated J.R. to claim the tournament title.

Corey Metzman Wins Wake Forest LD Title; Stratford Wins Policy

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Congratulations to the finalists at the Wake Forest National Earlybird! Montgomery Bell Academy’s Corey Metzman and Alhambra High School’s Jeffrey Shoung were scheduled to meet in a final round, but due to flight times, Jeffrey chose to forfeit, and the tournament staff declared Corey the champion.

Greg Hertz is Yale LD Champion; North Broward Prep Wins Public Forum Title

NEW HAVEN, CT - Congratulations to Millburn High School’s Greg Hertz and Salpointe Catholic High School’s Angie Hermes! The two debaters faced each other in the final round of the Yale Invitational. On a unanimous decision, the panel awarded the tournament title to Greg.
