Two Ways to Win Nationals and One Way to Lose

Posted by Kevin Troy in the Extemporaneous Speaking, Nationals 2006, What It Was Like to Win Nationals category

I had the very good fortune of winning the NFL National Tournament. I had the almost impossibly good fortune of winning the NFL National Tournament twice. Posted by Jed Glickstein in the What It Was Like to Win Nationals category

Editor’s note: As part of the lead-up to the 2006 National Tournament in Grapevine/Colleyville, Victory Briefs Daily will be providing reflections from a number of past National Champions in a variety of events. To kick off this feature, we’re pleased to present a humorous and insightful commentary by 2004 National Champion Jed Glickstein. I’ve been told that, since the piece was written for last year’s Nationals, the football jokes are slightly out of date. They still made me laugh!

There are two things that I can predict with certainty in Philadelphia this year: an unfortunate number of bad football puns will be made and somebody will win the tournament and be declared the 2006 NFL LD Champion. Today, we’ll learn how to do both.

(Note: the title is in jest; trying is actually highly recommended.)
