Ross Brown Repeats as Iowa State Champion

IOWA CITY, Iowa — West Des Moines Valley High School’s Ross Brown successfully defended his title at the Iowa Forensic League State Speech and Debate Tournament, fending off a challenge by Iowa City West High School’s Graham Tierney by defeating him in the final round of the tournament on a unanimous decision. Congratulations to both debaters!

Tom Mayes, Jesse Meyer, and Allison Stickley adjudicated.

Ross is coached by Dave McGinnis and Marcus Moretti; Graham is coached by Cyndy Woodhouse and Ernie Rose.

The tournament was hosted at the University of Iowa.
