Dan Cook Wins Vestavia Hills

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — Monticello High School’s Dan Cook is the champion of this year’s Over the Mountain Classic at Vestavia Hills High School, having defeated the Donoho School’s Vinay Giri in the final round. The judges were Wade Houston, Sumeet Singh, and Matt Wilson, who all voted for the negative, Dan.

Congratulations to both debaters!

Dan Cook is coached by Sabrina Graham; Vinay is coached by Ashley Pendley Burrage.

    there was a moment of silence for clinton at the beginning of the tournament and they are taking donations for a scholarship fund established in his name which the vestavia team has said they would match the donations made

    congrats to dan and vinay for bidding. vinay has torn up the bama circuit this year
    also congrats to jeff and larry for sems, with special condolences to larry. im not sure how at larges are going to work this year with too many debaters already qualled, but i find it hard to believe the marks champ won’t be at toc. you’ve got this bud
