Sheena Som Takes Novice Title;
Alexander Dawson of Colorado Wins PF
PHILADELPHIA, Penn. — Hendrick Hudson High School’s Alli Gofman is the champion of the thirty-fifth University of Pennsylvania Liberty Bell Classic, having bested Monticello High School’s Dan Cook in the final round. The judges — Anthony Berryhill, Mike Contillo, and Jon Kwan — voted unanimously for her. Congratulations to both debaters!
All proceeds from this year’s tournament went directly to Penn for Youth Debate and its volunteer activities.
Alli is coached by Jim Menick; Dan is coached by Sabrina Graham.
The Liberty Bell Classic also featured a novice competition in Lincoln-Douglas debate. In the final round, Hunter College High School’s Sheena Som defeated Newburgh Free Academy’s Taylor Roome to win the championship. Congratulations to both debaters!

The Public Forum tournament pitted Colorado against New Jersey as Alexander Dawson School’s team of Brian Litchfield and Bryan Thomson debated Livingston High School’s team of Devin Grossman and Zachary Lustbader. In the final round, Alexander Dawson defeated Livingston to take the title. Congratulations to both teams!
