Newark to Celebrate Thirty Years of Debate

posted by Jon Cruz on December 22nd, 2009

NEWARK, N.J. — “Debate in the City of Newark will be thirty years old in September of 2010,” notes Kurt Shelton. “We will be holding various tributes and celebrations through 2010 and 2011.”

To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary year, the teams of Newark invite you the 2010 Newark Invitational Debate Tournament. The tournament features a number of new features this season. The invitation is available here on VBD.

“Again,” notes Shelton, “thank you for your years of support. You have helped make debate in Newark possible.”

Wow, there are a lot of good tournaments that weekend. How do schools usually decide between Scarsdale and Newark? Are the pools pretty divided by state?

Newark and Scarsdale aren’t usually on the same weekend, so the pool division is going to be new.
