Michael Hassin Wins Ridge
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — The fifth annual Ridge Debates drew eighty competitors in Lincoln-Douglas debate. The final round featured Hendrick Hudson High School’s Alli Gofman and Millburn High School’s Michael Hassin. It was adjudicated by Charlie Furman, Adam Gerchick, and Alan Tong.
On a 2-1 decision, Michael defeated Alli to win the title. Congratulations to both finalists!
Michael is coached by Michael Paul, Avi Jayaraman, and Dan Jennis; Alli is coached by Jim Menick.
The varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate tournament attracted eighty competitors; the novice tournament had sixty-three debaters.
The final round of the novice division featured Montville High School’s Deep Dheri and Regis High School’s Kyle Misquitta. On a 2-1 decision, Deep defeated Kyle to win the title. Congratulations to both finalists!
Deep is coached by Mary Gormley; Kyle is coached by Eric Di Michele.
