Taylor Yocum Wins IFL Fall Conference
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Iowa Forensic League Fall Conference Tournament — one of two annual events, along with the State Tournament, that the IFL sponsors — concluded Saturday night. After five preliminary debate rounds — debaters needed a record of 3-2 to advance — the tournament broke to the quarterfinals.
In finals, Des Moines Roosevelt High School’s Taylor Yocum defeated Valley High School’s Christopher Miller on a 5-0 decision to win the title. Congratulations to both debaters!
Taylor is coached by Harry W. Strong and Nathan Fredericks; Christopher is coached by Dave McGinnis and Marcus Moretti.
