Harvard-Westlake Closes Out Damien

LA VERNE, Calif. — The varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate competition at the Damien Debates concluded on Sunday with a final round close out: Harvard-Westlake School’s Adam Bennett and Michelle Choi are this year’s co-champions. (Michelle coached over teammate Aneri Amin in the semifinal round.)

Congratulations to Harvard-Westlake!

Adam and Michelle (and Aneri) are coached by Mike Bietz, Peter D. van Elswyk, and Tara Norris.

Huge ups to Harvard-Westlake! You guys are great competitors. This weekend was a ton of fun, and you guys were the product of some really fun rounds! Special thanks to Tara for not making fun of me TOO much.

Also, I just wanted to say thanks to the Damien team for providing an awesome tournament. I truly didn’t expect the caliber of judging that was there, and the level of competition. Fun weekend!
