Congratulations Catherine! You deserve that win. I remember way back at NSD and just look how far you’ve come. I couldn’t be happier for you. I probably won’t be at Blake but it was wonderful to get to see you debate one more time. Hopefully, I’ll see you and and your brother again soon…
Congrats as well to the Eagan guys… You all worked hard. And especially our JVers and Novices. You guys did quite well for yourselves and you should all be proud.
Finally, thanks to Beena, Cherian, Colin, and everyone else working tab for making this tournament run as smooth as possible and for hosting it! Can’t wait till next year.

Congratulations to Catherine and Josh!!!
We had to send a smaller squad than usual this time around due to some school conflicts, but should be back to sending our usual large group next year. Many thanks to Team Apple Valley for being so accommodating as our entry shifted. Pam Cady Wycoff puts on a great show and we love attending!

I’d like to take a moment to congratulate New Orleans Jesuit’s Nicholas Falba on receiving the storied Apple Valley “crabapple” award as the 33rd seed.
Thanks for not being “crabby” and having a great attitude.
Admittedly, having your crabapple complimented by Dog the Bounty Hunter in Denver Airport might dwarf my message.
Additionally, great work to Thurm. Your consistency this season has been truly impressive.

DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER!??!?! Glad to see that he reps debate.
Congrats to Catherine for making it look easy, Eric for making debate entertaining, anyone I hung out with outside of rounds for making this activity worthwhile, Patrick Diehl for eloquently communicating his RFD in the doubles round that I judged with him, Anna Lyons for picking up my novice debater’s award, Jake Gelfand for making it out to cover Edina’s judging obligation, the Edina team for being the best scatagory players I know, and everyone else for being.
Also, special congrats to all the parents and anyone who had a hand in keeping the judges lounge full of (free) food. Much appreciated!
Last, this tournament was near-perfect, despite the unnecessarily frustratingly long judge selection process for doubles. The only improvement I can think of is if the tournament gave an award to the “most preferred critic,” which is totes possible given that MJPs are used.

Although very tiring, this tournament was awesome. Great competition, great judging, and extremely efficient. Thanks to everybody who helped run it.
A few congratulations are in order:
Seber- Congrats on quarters. I really enjoyed debating you in doubles.
Lassus- Good job getting the bid. Atta way to rep H-town.
Graham- Congrats on continuing an already impressive senior year. Keep it up.
Jordan and Nate- Atta way to be a couple ballers, as usual
Catherine-Congrats on the win. Very impressive.
Whitman- No surprise here. Good job on all the breaks.
Of course, congrats to Jrob! You told us before the tournament that you didn’t feel confident at all, yet you arrive in finals regardless. I’m continually impressed and I’m proud to have you as a teammate.
On a side note, congrats to Sarah Holley (semis) and Robbie Dillard (4-2) in JV LD. Atta way to rep Northland. The circuit should be looking out for these two… they’re out for blood. ;)
