Bronx Achievement Awards Conferred
THE BRONX, N.Y. — At this year’s New York City Invitational, four distinguished members of the forensics community — Chris Castillo, Jay Rye, Nicole Serrano, and Joe Vaughan — were bestowed with Bronx Achievement Awards. These awards honor individuals for contributions to debate community, excellence in debate pedagogy, and/or achievement in debate coaching.
Castillo’s award was presented by Jeremy Dudley. Rye’s award was presented by Jeff Roberts. Serrano’s award was presented by David Marks. Vaughan’s award was presented by Doug Lieb.
Previous recipients of the Bronx Achievement Award include Jonathan Alston, Patricia A. Bailey, Will Baker, Michael W. Burton, Martha Carr, Eric Di Michele, Marilee Dukes, Joseph Gazzola, B.A. Gregg, Sheryl Kaczmarek, John McKay, Jim Menick, J.W. Patterson, Richard B. Sodikow, Stacy Thomas, and Mark Webber.
