posted by Jon Cruz on May 18th, 2009

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Nadine Strossen, professor at New York University and past president of the American Civil Liberties Union, was recently interviewed on Minnesota Public Radio prior to giving a lecture at the University of Minnesota Law School. Over the course of the interview, Strossen — a former two-time state champion from Hopkins High School — talked at length about how her experience as a debater at Hopkins provided her with skills that have been and continue to be essential to her success in life.

Prof. Strossen also gave some awesome comments about the importance of debate education generally. I really encourage everyone to listen. The relevant portion of the interview is excerpted in audio form on our team history page if you don’t want to listen to the whole interview:

I realize “history” is spelled incorrectly in the address : ).
