Nikita Lalwani Wins 2009 Perspectives Round Robin

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. — The 2009 Perspectives Round Robin concluded with a final round that featured Scarsdale High School’s Nikita Lalwani on the affirmative and and Millburn High School’s Tess McNulty on the negative.

Nikita won on a 3-2 decision. Mike Contillo, Lindsay Dolan, and Aaseesh Polvarapu made up the majority. Corey Metzman sat out along with four of five voting students. (Matt Dunay, Erik Legried, Dylan Scher, and Alan Tong voted negative, while Saboor Sheerazi affirmed.)

Nikita is coached by Joe Vaughan and Patrick Diehl; Tess is coached by Brian Raymond and Michael O’Connell.

FINAL RANKINGS
1. Nikita Lalwani — Scarsdale High School (NY) [10 Ballots]
2. Tess McNulty — Millburn High School (NJ) [10 Ballots]
3. Saboor Sheerazi — The Bronx High School of Science (NY) [7 Ballots]
4. Matt Dunay — The Bronx High School of Science (NY) [6 Ballots]
4. Alan Tong — Ridge High School (NJ) [6 Ballots]

Thank you to Ali Huberlie and Matt Scarola for going out of their way to provide excellent hospitality and judging in a championship environment. Matt and Saboor had a great time, and I appreciated the communication prior to the tournament.
