I’d just like to thank Mr. Bellus and all the Iowa staff for an incredible tournament. The Iowa debate team put in hundreds of hours judging rounds, setting up meals and even shuttling competitors and coaches all over the city. The judging pool was filled with NDT coaches and elimination round competitors, and the trophies are some of the coolest in the country.

Thanks to the University of Iowa staff for once again demonstrating their incredible commitment to a quality tournament experience. Everything from the judges, the food, the hospitality, and the trophies make this tournament a model not only for college-run tournaments but for the high school community as a whole.

Congratulations to Mr. Roberts and Mr. Tierney for an outstanding showing. As a sophomore, Mr. Roberts will defend his title on the weekend of April 9-11th, 2010. If you are interested in challenging Mr. Roberts, put this tournament on your schedule early and let me know that you are interested in coming.

I would like to thank everyone who made this tournament possible – the Iowa debate staff, Mr. Bellus, etc. – for putting on one of the most enjoyable tournaments I have ever been to. I am pretty upset that I don’t get to come back next year, and anyone who has the opportunity should attend.
Congrats, once again, to everyone who cleared.
