Carson Chalmers Wins Hockaday
DALLAS, Tex. — The twenty-eighth annual HockaDebate at the Hockaday School concluded Saturday evening. The top twenty-one debaters advanced from an initial field of sixty-four to compete in a partial double-octafinal round. By the end of the evening, two debaters remained: Carson Chalmers from Marcus High School and Cathy Creighton from Southlake Carroll High School. Katie Dessi and Daryn Pacciotti voted for Carson, while Paul Dorasil voted for Cathy, giving Carson the title. Congratulations to both debaters! (Marcus coach Jenn Miller and Southlake Carroll coach Eric Melin, who are engaged, assure me that the wedding is still on.)
Carson is coached by Jenn Miller and Carey Petkoff; Cathy Creighton is coached by Eric Melin and Diane Forbes.
