Akshay Kumar Wins the Florida Blue Key

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The twenty-fifth annual Florida Blue Key Speech & Debate Tournament took place this past weekend on the campus of the University of Florida. Ninety Lincoln-Douglas debaters competed over the course of six preliminary rounds; the top thirty-two debaters advanced into the elimination rounds.

The final round featured Akshay Kumar of Southside High School and Coral Rojas of Fort Lauerdale High School. On a 4-3 decision, Akshay defeated Coral to take the tournament. Congratulations to both debaters!

Akshay is coached by Erickson L. Bynum; Coral is coached by Jim Wakefield.
