Ilya Gaidarov Wins CSU Long Beach Title

LONG BEACH, Cali. — The Jack Howe Invitational, an annual event at California State University, Long Beach — concluded late Sunday night with a final round that featured Torrey Pines High School’s Ilya Gaidarov and Esperanza High School’s Justin Pearce.
In the round, Ilya defeated Justin to claim the 2008 Long Beach title. Congratulations to both debaters!
Ilya is coached by Chris Drake; Justin is coached by Suzanne Munsell.
In the tournament’s junior varsity division, Harvard-Westlake School’s Nick Pritzker faced off against Troy High School’s Jaine Lee in the final round. Janie defeated Nick to win the J.V. title. Congratulations to both debaters!
