Battle for the Belt!

posted by Jon Cruz on August 26th, 2008

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Meadows School Forensics cordially invites you to attend The Meadows School’s sixth annual Kirk Knutsen Classic Debate Tournament, October 31 to November 2, 2008. The Classic will provide competition in Varsity Policy and Lincoln Douglas debate on the 2008 and November/December topics.

Last year, the NDCA recognized this tournament by recognizing TMS as the Tournament Host of the Year thanks in part to it’s over-the-top Vegas hospitality. The tournament is already at half-capacity, so be sure to register now! More details follow.

This year’s tournament has been designated as a semifinal qualifier for the Tournament of Champions in both policy and Lincoln-Douglas debate.

This year, all competitors, coaches, and judges will be treated to a trip to the Caesar’s Forum Shoppes, a buffet for lunch on Friday, and catered meals (all of which are included as part of the low entry fees). As per usual very few trophies other than the famed belts will be up for grabs as the remaining “trophy budget” will be donated to charity.

There is no tournament in the country that has better hospitality than the Meadows Tournament, bar none, including my own. If you’re looking for a quality tournament, excellent judging, and absurd hospitality, do not walk…run to sign up for Las Vegas this October. After attending last year, I will be certain to never miss this event.

If you are interested in being hired as a judge please contact me soon. The list of people wanting to be hired usually drastically outstrips the number of hired judges I actually need.
