Mark Harris Defends Virginia AAA State Title
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Congratulations to Mark Harris of First Colonial High School, who defended his title as Virginia High School League Division AAA State Champion by defeating Patrick Handley of Princess Anne High School. (Mark is a junior, giving him the opportunity to become the VHSL’s first three-time State Champion next year!)
In Division AA, Southampton High School’s Kelsey Butler defeated Potomac Falls’s Jack Kelly for the title. In Division A, Wilson Memorial High School’s Stephanie Painter and Laura Trask closed out. Congratulations to all the finalists!
Mark is coached by Jim Godfrey; Patrick is coached by Andrew Jackson. Jack is coached by Tim Kane. Stephanie and Laura are coached by Stephen J. Singleton.
The tournament took place on the campus of Liberty University. Full results will be posted after this coming weekend.
