The TOC Countdown Begins
posted by Jon Cruz on April 27th, 2008
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The countdown to Victory Briefs Daily’s live coverage of the National High School Tournament of Champions begins with a blast from the past. Ashan Peiris has delivered a collection of images from the 2003 TOC, which featured a final round between Mission San Jose’s Andrew Garvin and Lincoln Southeast’s Tom Evnen.
But let’s now turn our attention to this year’s TOC. You can expect a host of features in the days leading up to the big weekend.
A final list of competitors and critics will be released this week, but in the meantime, with just a few days to go, feel free to begin rooting for your friends, family, and teammates!

Sorry everyone, in case you didn’t already know, the great edina legend Thomas Kakalios and John Scoggin have already been decided as the final round. The two other semifinalists are yet to be determined, but you can rest assured they will be from the midwest

On a serious note, Congrats to the Entire Midwest contingency at the TOC. All of you have made for some great rounds, and some great tournaments outside of the rounds.

Wow…I judged that round…something about realism. And I think I judged the Garvin vs. Emre round too but I can’t remember. Clearly this means that Ashan has been stalking me since 2003.
The best part (which you can’t really tell from the photos) was Oscar draped in the hotel blanket curled up on the floor, fantastic coaching model!

Aside from the obvious affiliates (David/Ben/I guess Scoggin), I want Catterbaby, Rebahhh, and Raheezy to go dominate for those that never made it…namely me.
