Shadman Zaman Wins the Six Rounds of Spring
NEW YORK, N.Y. — The third installment of Chetan Hertzig and Kathryn Harris’s Six Rounds of Spring — at Columbia University for the first time — concluded this afternoon with a final debate matching the two highest-ranked competitors in the field. The Bronx High School of Science’s Saboor Sheerazi affirmed against Sacred Heart High School’s Shadman Zaman in a round adjudicated by Abdul Beretay, Aracelis Biel, and Alex Weaver. On a 2-1 decision — Weaver dissented — Shadman defeated Saboor to win the tournament. Congratulations to both debaters!
Shadman is coached by Beena Koshy and Chetan Hertzig; Saboor is coached by Jon Cruz, Douglas Jeffers, and Taarini Vohra.
