Justin Wedell is Ohio State Champion
MEDINA, Ohio — The eighty-first annual Ohio High School Speech League State Tournament was held from February 29 to March 2, 2008 at Medina High School. It featured fifty-four Lincoln-Douglas debaters from across the Buckeye State. While only incomplete information is available to us at this time — the pairings from the octafinals should be available from the OHSSL in the coming weeks — we have received the results from the quarterfinals on, which means we can report a champion.
University School’s Justin Wedell faced off against Glen Oak High School’s Luke Wirth in the final round of this year’s tournament. In the round, Justin defeated Luke to claim the state championship. Congratulations to both debaters!
Justin is coached by Peter Paik; Luke is coached by Nick Bollas and Tom Mosberger.
