Parli – what a great final, the two coaches (Lynette at Analy, Janet at San Ramon Valley) are really good friends. Congrats to Sam and Chris.
Policy – a classic final. Could be a preview to the final round at State. Nate and Sagar don’t debate together usually but Nate was in finals of state last year so it would be great if it was Nate/Nick or Sagar/Ani vs Edison in the finals of State in policy.

I want to give a big congrats to Tess. Good job at the tournament. Karthik for making the late octos round as fun as it could’ve been at* 12 in the morning. And congrats to my teammates Ashley and Alex for breaking really far in the tournament. And congrats to Alex for your toc bid in NX.

What a fun weekend!
I want to extend my apologies to Tess for the confusion that happened after our final round and during the awards ceremony. It really should not have gone down like that. You did really well, and I hope there are no hard feelings. The round could have gone either way, I got lucky with the two lay judges.
St. Mary’s did really well, thank you all for being so supportive of me. Congrats to Alexandra, Josh, and San for breaking too! Thanks to my coach Mrs Roza for telling me that I had to win this after 2nd place last year. I guess I perform well under pressure. =p
Special thanks to everyone from Granite Bay who watched my out rounds and laughed with me about my examples. Send me an e-mail so we can keep in touch. (alex@rausch.com)

Thanks Alex. Let me know what happened with the confusion. I know you told me briefly as I was leaving about the last round.

They gave Tess the win and medal, but after a recount they found that the judges swapped our school codes. It was 2-1 neg [me], and they contacted each of the three judges to confirm. So she had to give up 1st place, which no one should have to do.

Yes, as Ashley put it above, the non-Allen Ding Granite Bay debaters say hello. Nice work to both Alex and Tess. Thank you, Alex, for a wonderfully civil Semis round. It’s a good way to get knocked out :)
