Policy Teams to Debate Alternative Energy Next Season
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The National Federation of State High School Associations announced today that the policy debate resolution for the 2008-2009 season reads:
Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States.
“Ballots,” the NFHS explains, “were first sent to states, the District of Columbia, the National Forensic League, National Debate Coaches Association and the National Catholic Forensic League last August. After a period of discussion of the two final topic areas, states conducted balloting in December and January.” Alternative Energy was chosen with thirty-one of the thirty-eight votes cast for the topic; the remaining topic choice was Health Care.
