Happy Birthday, Mike Bietz!
LOS ANGELES, Cali. — He’s hopefully still catching up on some very well-deserved sleep after directing the Victory Briefs Tournament this weekend, but, when he wakes up to check VBD today, let him wake up to a lot of comments celebrating his birthday. Mike Bietz — director of debate at Harvard-Westlake and managing director of Victory Briefs — has been an active and involved member of our community for many years. I could fill an entire trivia column with his accomplishments as a coach, but for this post, right here, I think it most appropriate to focus on his accomplishments as a person. Bietz is smart. Bietz is funny. Bietz is informed. Bietz is caring. Most of all, Bietz is cool.I know I am very lucky to count Mike Bietz both as a friend and as a mentor. Please join me in wishing him a very happy birthday!
