Congratulations to Dowling Catholic’s Spencer Sheaff - Anna Schwalenberg who defeated Okoboji’s Melissa Osman and Leah Hilsabeck on a 2-1 in the final round of Public Forum with a panel of Mayes, Nelson, and Hansen.*

This is the second year in a row Dowling has defeated Okoboji in the final round of Forum, but Hilsabeck is the only returning debater.

Congratulations to Spencer and Anna. Not only were they great debaters, they were great debaters that save the tournament!!!

There are many to congratulate, and the tournament is ongoing, but at this point in time I’d like to give a big shout-out to Christian Keil for earning his first bid to the TOC! Great job!

I’ve had a chance to see all of these debaters in action and they are definitely a talented bunch. Keep it up!

i actually think jed and john never closed out valley together… i don’t think. i think john and nick did. i know one year John lost to Aparna from Colleyville in Octos or maybe double octos.

One more piece of trivia - i think that year (2003?) Hopkins closed out Valley? I could be wrong. I think Tim Hogan was in the mix somewhere in there.
