A Welcome Back Message from Scott Wunn

posted by Jon Cruz on September 11th, 2007

RIPON, Wis. – Lisa Vossekuil has sent a message from J. Scott Wunn, Executive Secretary of the National Forensic League, to each member coach who has renewed her school’s membership. The message has been reposted here on VBD.

Welcome back to another fantastic NFL school year!

Thank you for renewing your school’s membership with the National Forensic League! Our Founder, Bruno E. Jacob, would be very proud of your, and thousands of others, dedication and willingness to commit personal time and talents in developing our youth.

Great strides have been accomplished the past several years in “Training Youth for Leadership”. The NFL continues to grow as an organization with new schools, new members, and new services.

As a member of the NFL family, students in your program have the opportunity to join an organization wholly committed to “Training Youth for Leadership.” Why is this important? The NFL provides innumerable occasions for students to expand and develop their skills, confidence, and character. The youth of today are our future!

To assist you in using our point recording site, we have attached the Online Point Recording Instructions. These are also available on our website at www.nflonline.org under Coaching Resources, Getting Started.

The NFL is proud to offer a lifetime NFL membership to all students and coaches. Once your students and coaches have earned the required 25 points, the online system will automatically generate merit membership and your school will be invoiced the $15 lifetime membership fee. Within ten days of generating new memberships, you will receive membership cards and the traditional “hand engrossed” membership certificates along with a hard copy of any invoices that have been generated. Please note that the Executive Council has approved an increase from $10 to $15 per lifetime membership. We hope that all NFL advisors will agree that this modest increase will more accurately reflect the value of the services provided to our member students while effectively covering the increasing costs for providing these services.

The NFL Executive Council and I would like to thank you for providing your students with the opportunity for NFL membership.

On behalf of the Executive Council and National Office staff, I want to thank you for being a part of the NFL family. The Council and I are open to your suggestions and opinions. We strive to provide the best assistance and tools to our NFL schools, advisors, and coaches.

Again, thank you for renewing your membership in the National Forensic League. We look forward to an exciting and fulfilling year.

Best of Luck,

J. Scott Wunn
NFL Executive Director
