Today: Practice Round 4

Anna Lisa Macon and Pooja Rambhia
LOS ANGELES, Cali. - Debaters will participate in their fourth practice round today. There are two divisions, each of which is double-flighted, and each of which is named for a local point of geography. When a debater has the flight off in her own division, she has downtime to prepare and to work. When one half of the camp has a double-flighted round, the other half of the camp proceeds to the Symposium on Debate Strategy. This series of lectures and discussions reinforces fundamental concepts while challenging students to evaluate their own current approaches to different aspects of debate. So far, Mike Bietz has presented “Positional Debate” and Tommy Clancy has presented “Advanced Affirming or ‘Recapturing the Myth’” and “Advanced Negating, or: ‘The Lost Art of Negating.’”
Today, Jeremy Schifberg will present “Full-Spectrum Dominance and Tricks of the Trade: How to Perfect All the Non-Debate Aspects of a Tournament and Win the Intangibles.”

Full Spectrum Dominance is an awesome presentation. I really enjoyed it when I heard it last year and I found the tips very useful.
