To Our Students: Thank You, Safe Travels, and Good Luck!

Johanna Tyler Waves Goodbye

LOS ANGELES, Cali. - Over two hundred students called Loyola Marymount University home as students at the Victory Briefs Institute. Today, our forty-five three-week debaters departed for home after a strenuous extension week of research, drills, mentoring, and unique skill-building activities.

So, I’ve decided to restart a conversation that I begun last week. On behalf of the faculty and staff at VBI@LMU, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for helping to make this installment of our program our very best yet. We wish you great success in the coming season and hope you will remain in contact, both in person and online. I know I speak for everyone on staff when I say that you helped make our last two weeks incredible. Please feel free to use this space to share messages and e-mail addresses to help remain in touch.

I just want to thank all of you for making this 2 week debate camp be as beneficial and fun as possible. I know that this camp has provided me with the skills to have great success at the national curcuit. This a very well run institute and I’m thankful for all the help it has done for me. Good luck with the 3rd week, and then session 2.

VBI was definitely one of the best camps I’ve ever attended. Special thanks go out to Jon Cruz, Neil Conrad, Wes Craven, Tim Case, and Patrick Mahoney for making 3rd week special and thanks to Petey Gil and Nathan Abell for running the most baller lab ever. Thanks to all my roomies, hallmaters, book group members, and friends in general for being unbelievably awesome.

Everyone keep in touch - facebook me, myspace me, email me, add me on AIM - and let me reiterate the fact that I expect to see every single one of you back on the national circuit next year.

VBI was incredible this year. The food may have not been great, but everything else at vbi made up for it. Sarah, Jacob, and Tom were great lab leaders. The students and especially the staff definitely convinced me i didn’t waste my summer at debate camp.

VBI was an invaluable experience. My lab leaders, the rest of the staff, and my peers all gave me new, unique perspectives on different forms of debate as well as concepts I had thought I was already familiar with. Everyone offered great feedback that I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. Thanks everyone…

VBI was priceless…I wish I went to this camp earlier. I couldn’t have gotten a better experience anywhere else. It was extreeemely well run and the only thing that might’ve been bad about it was the food.

Special Props to Ryan Cooper, Wes Craven and Liz Scoggin for makin lab fun and hilarious!! :D

Thanks to everyone for making this one of the best experiences of my life. I’d like to thank Adam/Claire/Stephanie/Elisa for putting up with me in our labs and to all my new friends that made this camp wonderful.
