LOS ANGELES, Cali. – Each day, I profile two upstanding young students in our “Debaters of the Day” feature. Today, as yesterday, I bring to you a Texan from one of our top labs and a Californian from our novice lab. These two are two of the nicest people at camp. And their school names sound similar, to boot. So, I present to you Devin Race and Sade Tavangarian. How did you first get involved in debate?
When I was in middle school, I really liked speech class — even though I somehow acquired a weird lisp every time I gave a speech — and debating always really interested me, although I had no idea what it actually was. If I had, I’m not sure I would’ve joined…. [Ed. -- Oh, come on!]
What is your proudest achievement in debate thus far?
Being the VBI Debater of the Day. [Ed. -- Cut the sarcasm!]
What are your hobbies beyond debate?
I’m a runner. I’m on the cross-country team at school. And I do martial arts, i.e. karate. I’m also a big fan of naps (and Star Wars). [Ed. -- Approved.]
What are your main goals for VBI@LMU?
On a debate level, I want to improve my weighing analysis both in how frequently I use it and its complexity. On a personal level, I’d like to figure out the best way to balance intense debate work with not going crazy.
What is your favorite thing about camp thus far?
The lectures have been really incredible. Both in lab/lab family and in the modules and group lectures, I’ve really been getting some valuable knowledge that I can see myself referencing frequently and fruitfully for the rest of the year. But I think that this might soon be challenged by the amazingness sure to ensue in Jon’s “Nerd Nights”….

How did you first get involved in debate?
During history class in the beginning of eighth grade, we debated things such as history concepts. My teacher told me I had a great passion, so I joined the middle school debate team for one year.
What is your proudest achievement in debate thus far?
My proudest achievement in debate was doing my first LD debate. I was so intimidated at the beginning debating a JV student, but the turnout was amazing. I had lots of fun and am looking forward for future practice debates.
What are your hobbies beyond debate?
Other than debate, I enjoy swimming, dancing, reading, playing tennis and piano, and hanging out with friends.
What are your main goals for VBI@LMU?
My main goal for VBI is to improve writing cases and flowing. Since I just got used to parliamentary last year, I’m still adjusting to the LD style.
What is your favorite thing about camp thus far?
I love having modules because I’ve never learned much about philosophers, but their ideas are brilliant. Their different views on social contract interest me greatly.

noor fateh is the hottest, smartest, most manly boy i have ever laid my eyes on.
his lucious lips, that glorious body makes me quiver. when he talks, i worship his voice. when he walks, i kiss the groud that his feet have lain on. when his eyes pop, which is often, i cannot resist but to look upon those dark golden brown eyes, it’s like falling in love with chocolate. every time i see his tight buttocks move about, its like falling in love all over again. but anyways….
