Debate Movie Update: THANKS TO GRAVITY
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - We were recently contacted by the director of Thanks to Gravity, Jessica Kavana Dornbusch, about the upcoming film festival premiere this weekend at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Jordan Landa has big dreams and theability to fulfill them, but shes been raised to understand the value of a womans conventional role as a wife and mother. As she yearns for exploration, her Latin, Jewish family continues to emphasize their ideas of culture, tradition, and family. Can a woman really have it all or does a time come when we all have to make a choice? Choices. Priorities. Jordan must figure these things out for herself through debate, through friendship, through family and through love. Set principally in the sexy, ethnically diverse city of Miami, it is the heat, the excessive assault of color, and the music that helps bring out the spirit of this woman in hiding.
The movie stars:
Gina Philips (Jeepers Creepers, Ally McBeal)
Sean Astin (Lord of The Rings, Rudy)
Adam Rodriguez (CSI Miami, Splinter)
Austin Nichols (Glory Road, Wimbledon)
Bryan Greenberg (October Road, Prime, One Tree Hill)
Senhil Ramamurthy (Heroes)
Rachel Miner (Bully, The Black Dahlia)
Shirley Knight (The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, As Good As It Gets)
Joaquim de Alameida (Celestine Prophecy, 24)
Eve Gordon (Miss Congeniality II, Felicity)
Azura Skye (28 Days, Heavens Fall)
Angelo Spizzirri (The Rookie, The Underclassman)
If you happen to be in Southern California (and are not attending this weekend’s State Tournament), you can check out the premiere on Saturday April 21, 2:00 PM — Edwards Island Cinemas — Farmers & Merchants Bank Screen.
