Following in Your Footsteps
posted by Jon Cruz on March 31st, 2007

In a recent commend here on VBD, Prashant Rai observed that siblings of debaters seemed to be dominating the recent novice championship tournaments. Do you have a sibling who is now debating, or who will be debating next season? If both siblings are now competing, how does that dynamic work on your team?

This is off topic, but I’m pretty sure that this entire entry is just an excuse to show Naveen and Varun together at the same time.

I admit I was looking for an excuse to use this particular photo. But I was already thinking about doing such a post after I read Prashant’s comment — and then I realized I could kill two birds with one stone!

While I admit that the picture of Varun is an “instant classic” (not unlike a slanderous photo form the TOC from awhile ago), I must state for the record:
No one has a better debate sibling than I do. Period.

my brother, two years younger than me, went to two tournaments, for a combined 7-0, then quit debate.

As much love as I have for the Koshy and Halvorson clans (and debate siblings in general!), I have to say MY sibling is by far THE best! End of story. :)

I hit both Hersheys at Apple Valley. =)
Ken’s all-red paper scared me out of the win.
