Just for that, Naveen, I think Cruz should take 12 pictures of you and your brother for Jayaramania 07.

I agree 100% with Joe. I’m really excited about all the improvements that Messrs. Alston and Camara have made to the tournament, and I think the word-of-mouth that will no doubt follow will help the tournament grow in future years. This is going to be an awesome time.

Obviously we’ll never be too amazed by the depth and quality of this pool, but it’s a pretty good sign that it’s been able to draw a lot of the best regional debaters. No one would expect a finals bid to have too much draw outside the region, and an impressive 9 out of 19 NE debaters who got bids at the NE’s quarters bid tournaments will be at Newark, as well as the the top NE debater at each of those tournaments (the champions of Manchester, Bump and Yale, Micki and Greg, and the runner-up of Lex, Rushabh).
Plus, there some really good debaters who aren’t in the above group, like Aks, Naveen, and Zayn. Plus the Bronx team. Oh yeah, plus Panda.
