National finalists Liz Mullins and Douglas Jeffers
GRAPEVINE, TX – Dulles High School’s Douglas Jeffers and Sacred Heart High School’s Liz Mullins will face each other in the final round of Nationals. Congratulations to both competitors on this prestigious accomplishment.
As the only undefeated debater left in the tournament, Douglas advanced to the final round while Liz Mullins faced off against Edina High School’s Liz Scoggin in Round 14. The round was adjudicated by Anjan Choudhury, Jeff Gans, Benjamin Jewell, R.J. Pellicciotta, and Joe Vaughan. They arrived at a 4-1 decision in favor of the debater from Massachusetts. (Gans dissented.)

my other post on this is buried so i’ll say it again: liz did an amazing job to make it so far despite battling what sounds to me like the bubonic plague. apparently it made her voice more tolerable because she got a lot of compliments. seriously, she was vastly under-rated.
also, congrats to liz mullins. she debates the way she wants to and doesnt complain if her opponents embrace a different style. congratulations also to beena – even though she unwittingly insulted me in front of my mother once, shes related to cherian and boy do i love cherian.

Congratulations to everyone who competed at the NFL national tournament.
That semifinal panel is incredible — wow. I thought for a second it was the “this is the panel we wanted to have of those available” instead of the actual panel!
