Live from the NFL: Lincoln-Douglas Run-off Round
![]()
Hot off the presses, Andy O’Connell has just read me off the list of the thirty-six individuals who qualified to compete in the run-off round in Lincoln-Douglas Debate so I could post them here. Congratulations to all!
We’ve posted the names we have available to us. We’ll keep updating as we learn more; if you know names to match the nameless codes, let us know!
There will be no run-off round in policy.

Now, your job is to post everyone who straight-cleared. :)

Is there a list of people who straight-cleared yet?

To answer both - to keep tension high, the tab room decided not to announce until after run-offs occur. :o(
We’ll be back after these messages!

Curious:
If (as here) more than 64 LDers have 8 or more ballots, then everyone with 9+ ballots straight-clears.
Then everyone with exactly 8 ballots (these 36 people) debate a runoff round with 3 judges. The winners advance; the losers go home. (Well, the losers tool around Salt Lake City for the rest of the week).

Is there someone currently at the LD tournament site who can leave a number where I can reach them. I have a couple of quick questions. Thanks

I won in a forfeit due to lack of my opponent making their presence in the round…. cheap :) , but i’m not complaining.
So 177 will be competing tomorrow :)

According to Ryan Lawrence, both he and Bryce Adams dropped on a 2-1 in their run-off rounds.

Why is Peter Van Elswyk listed as having won two different rounds? He must be pretty damn good ;)

Thanks, Justin. ;o) This is a high-stress situation, sitting in the only available corner with wireless Internet, while Oscar Schine reads me codes over a shaky phone connection. :o)

120 is Glenbrook North RB (Ron Balfour).
Seriously not trying to toot my own horn (especially because I lost), just trying to add info.
